Jeannette Wilson Christopher, 91, of Baker’s Ridge Road, Morgantown, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at the residence of her son. She was born in Albright, WV on May 16, 1923, a daughter of the late Melvin Wilson and the late Anna (Tenney) Wilson. Survivors include her son, James W. Christopher and his wife Rita with whom she currently made her home; two daughters-in-law, Tammy Christopher and her fiancé Tom Barnhouse of Morgantown and Judy Christopher and her husband Wayne Daugherty of Florida; two grandsons, Robbie Christopher and his wife Taya, and Jamie Christopher all of Morgantown; two step-grandsons, Wesley Stump and his wife Jennifer and Bryan Stump all of Morgantown; four great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Christopher of Warren, OH, several nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Reynolds Gall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Glenn Christopher on October 22, 2000; her son, Robert L. “Bob” Christopher; two grandchildren, Eric Casey Christopher and Kimberly Christopher; a brother Willis Wilson, and a sister Genevieve Lewis.. Jeannette was formerly a member of Suncrest United Methodist Church and had attended Kingdom Evangelical Methodist Church. She worked as a packaging specialist for Mylan Pharmaceuticals for 10 years. She enjoyed a good camp fire, shopping, and NASCAR. Jeannette will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved her family, and loved to cook. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Tuesday, August 19th from 5-8 PM and again on Wednesday, August 20th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Jeannette will be laid to rest with her husband, son and grandson in the Garden of Apostles of Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover. The Christopher family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Amedysis Hospice, particularly her nurses Rochelle and Natalie and her aid Kristen for the care given to Jeannette during her illness.
