Jeffrey Karl Sankbeil, 47, of Morgantown, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011, after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was born August 31, 1963, in Morgantown, a son of the late William Edward and Adeline Brown Sankbeil .He worked in the tire industry from the age of 19. In 1988, he opened his own tire business, Sankbeil Tire. He was always well respected and liked in the community. He was a friend to everyone he met and always gave a helping hand. He loved to work and be active but also loved Sundays with his family. He was most proud of his daughters, Julie and Jordan.He was a member of the Stagger 4X4 Jeep club and the Dream Machines Car Club. During the 1980âs he enjoyed racing GNCC (Grand National Cross Country) on his 4wheeler and won nationally. He also enjoyed racing locally.He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Judy Williams Sankbeil, whom he met when she was 16 and he was 19. They married on August 20, 1988, his daughters, Julie Michelle Sankbeil and Jordan Elizabeth Sankbeil at home, one brother and spouse, Doug and Jenny Sankbeil of Arthurdale, a brother-in-law and fiancéJohn Williams and Tonya Heston of Arthurdale, his nieces, Melissa Gressley and Greg, Marlana Sutton and Ricky, Marshawna Montgomery and Matt, Breanna Williams and Alexandrea Williams, great-nephews, Christion and Slade Sutton, and Jeremiah Montgomery, great-niece, Ramsey Gressley, his aunt and uncle, Pam and Sam Costante of Morgantown, and Aunt Norma Bigler of Sundale, his in-laws, Dave and Carolyn Williams of Morgantown, as well as many cousins.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, maternal grandparents, Dempsey Brown and Maude Williams and paternal grandparents, Adolph and Clara Sankbeil. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Saturday, February 12, from 4-9pm, and again on Sunday, February 13, from 11am-2pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 2pm with Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
