Jeffrey V. Ward, 81, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, February 12th. He was born on August 14, 1943 in Worcester, MA, a son of the late Bert and Ethel Ward.
Jeff was a graduate of Morgantown High School and was a member of the school's wrestling team and also attended Potomac State. He served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. Jeff worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years and after his retirement worked at Sam's Club and Hastings Funeral Home. In his free time, a big part of his life since he was 17 years old was playing bass guitar in several local bands. He was also an avid bowler and racquetball player. Jeff loved WVU sports and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 43 years, Terri Bellman Ward; daughters, Barb (Mike) Kent of Chestertown MD and Jennifer Jordan of Keyser, WV; granddaughter, Charli (Charlotte) of Keyser WV; brothers-in-law, Steve and Bruce Bellman; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved Malamute, Journey.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his mother and father in-law, Shirley and Bill Bellman, with whom he was very close; nephew Matt Bellman; great niece Alexa Harris; many aunts and uncles and 4 beloved fur babies which he absolutely adored.
