Jerry Lee Daft, Sr., 68, of Morgantown, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday morning, January 1, 2014 at Golden Living Center of Morgantown, WV after a long illness. Jerry was born in Randolph County on November 24, 1945, a son of the late James and Audra Shreves Daft. Survivors include three children, Kimberly Rogers and her husband Keith of Independence, Jerry Lee Daft, Jr. and his companion Stephanie of Reedsville and Jessica Conner of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosi Daft and her companion George Buxcil of South Dakota and Judy Franklin and her husband Lane of Morgantown; one brother, Billy Daft and his companion Jane Summers of Morgantown; his father-in-law, Earl McCartney of Morgantown and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Janet Elaine McCartney Daft, and his brothers, Ivan, Jimmy, Robert, David and Butchie Daft; and his sisters, Thelma Crites, Sheila Yeager and Shirley Crouse. Jerry was a member of the Mt. View Free Methodist Church, and spent many years as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Saturday, January 4th from 2 PM until the time of the service at 3 PM with Rev. Francis Craker officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Fairview Cemetery on the Grafton Rd. in Morgantown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jerry's name may be made to the Mt.
