John Ambrose

John Andrew Ambrose, 86, of Halleck Road, Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.John was born in Pennsylvania on March 22, 1924, the son of the late Charles and Caroline Ambrose.He served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. William Seiverling Destroyer Escort in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He moved to WV in 1962, and worked at West Virginia University Hospital where he was the supervisor of the physical plant until he retired in 1986. John is survived by his wife, Jeanette Ambrose and four children and their spouses and children, Andrea Brown, Jo Albertazzie, her children, Shawn Bennett, Lyndsey Albertazzie and Kaylyn Albertazzie, Jerry Ambrose and wife, Pamela and their son, John Alexander Ambrose, Kip Ambrose and also Johnâs sister, Margaret Tombler and several nephews and nieces in Pennsylvania. In honoring Johnâs wishes, cremation services were provided by Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Johnâs memory to the American Cancer Society, 122 South High Street, Morgantown, WV 26505.John will always be with us and forever in our hearts.
