John Edward Poole

John Edward Poole, 73, of Reedsville, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. John was born in Morgantown on July 20, 1942, the son of the late Kenneth Poole and the late Ada Wanita (Howell) Poole. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Agnes Theresa Hefferan Poole. John was a Methodist by faith, graduate of Morgantown High School, and served five years during the Vietnam War in the US Air Force. He previously worked at Beaumont Glass and Davis and Lynch. He also owned Presmon Excavating Company with Homer Hart. In 1980, he started his employment as a maintenance man and school bus driver for the Monongalia County Board of Education. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and WVU Sports. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, J.K. Poole, Theresa Poole, Stacy Poole, Rebecca Ridenour; sister, Jane Adamczyk and her husband Tom; one niece, Denise Adamczyk. Friends and family will be received at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Thursday, October 22nd from 7-9. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, October 23rd from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM with Pastor James E. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Taylor County on Friday at 2:00 PM. Military funeral honors will be accorded at the cemetery.
