Josephine Zuccari died December 15, 2012 at the Goodwin House, Alexandria, Virginia. Josephine was born in Shallmar, Maryland to Joseph and Dora Schifano. She graduated from University High School and Morgantown Business College and worked as a secretary at the WVU Agriculture and Extension Service for nine years and for J.C. Penney for ten years. She was also a volunteer in the gift department of the WVU Hospital. Josephine belonged to the Catholic Daughters, was a member of the Canasta Club for over thirty years and was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Memmo Zuccari; by her brothers Joseph, Charles and Tony Schifano; and by her sisters Anna Gargarella and Mary Marrara. She is survived by her children Alan (Lisa) Zuccari of McLean, VA, Elizabeth (Tim) Murphy of Charleston, WV and Dora Ellen Zuccari of Springfield, VA; by her grandchildren Cara Murphy Knechtly, Jennifer Murphy, and Jason, Jarred and Sara Zuccari; and by her sister Rose Chapman of Morgantown. Visitation will be held at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Tuesday, December 18, from 6-9p.m. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7pm Tuesday evening in the funeral home to conclude the visitation. On Wednesday, December 19 Mrs. Zucarri will be moved to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown where she will lie in repose from 10AM until the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM with Rev. Msgr. Frederick P. Annie, VG and Rev. Colombo F. Bandiera as con-celebrants. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Goodwin House Alexandria Foundation Employee Education Fund, 4800 Fillmore Avenue, Alexandria, VA, 22311.
