Joyce Ann (Poland) Skidmore, 80, of Weirton, WV passed away surrounded by family peacefully in the care of hospice at her son's home in Morgantown, WV on April 10, 2024. She was born in Steubenville, OH to the late John and Winnie Poland. She graduated class of 1961 from Steubenville Big Red.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert (Bob/Bubba) Skidmore, as well as her brother, Jack (Barbara) Poland of Delaware.

She will be remembered with love by her two sons Curt (Leslie) Skidmore of Greeley, CO and Jason (Stacy) Skidmore of Morgantown, WV. She leaves behind her precious grandchildren who knew her as Nanny; Brett (Melissa) Skidmore, Aubrey Skidmore, Mattison Koch, Miranda Koch and Jacob Reese as well as her great granddaughters; Isabella Skidmore and Everleigh Reese. In addition, she leaves many adoring nieces, nephews, in laws, cousins and friends.

Joyce had a love for crafts and started her business with her husband over forty years ago. Her personalized woodcrafts were her signature and they traveled to many craft shows year-round. She retired from crafting at the Beaver Valley Mall in October 2023 but had so many fond memories of her craft/mall friends who she spoke of often.

Joyce enjoyed watching football with her dad growing up and this became a lifelong love of hers as well. A true sports enthusiast, Joyce followed local high school, college and professional football and cheered passionately for her teams.

Joyce was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, neighbor, and friend to all of those who knew her. She had many amazing friendships and loved her friends and family with all her heart.

She enjoyed being part of her high school class of 1961 reunion committee and spoke of her classmates with admiration.

Joyce was of Christian Faith and in the last few years enjoyed attending online church services.
