Julia Louise Annonio, 91, of East Brockway Ave., Morgantown, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010.Julia was born in Morgantown on April 21, 1918, the daughter of the late Luigi and Elizabeth Bettina Annonio.She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.She was a graduate of Morgantown High School. Julia was a dedicated employee for over 60 years and later became the co-owner of Peerless Laundries. Julia was passionate about her heritage she was an 80+ year member of the Sons of Italy where she was the treasurer, a member of the Catholic Daughters, BPW, Zonta Club and Columbia Lodge. She was a former board member of the Italian Heritage Festival and was a singer for the Joe LaRosa Orchestra at Melody Manor in Fairmont. She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Annonio and Helen McCord and a brother, Donald Annonio and wife Faye, as well as nieces and nephews from the Annonio, Pride, Fowkes, Finnin, Simoneau and Boyde families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Annonio, her sister Angeline Boyde, a brother-in-law Paul G. McCord and a niece, Georganna Simoneau.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9p.m. on Tuesday, April 13.A scriptural wake service will be held in the funeral home at 8p.m. on Tuesday evening. Visitation will continue at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 14, from 9:30a.m. â" 10:30a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the church at 10:30a.m. with Rev. Leon Alexander as Celebrant.
