Julia Susan Bonfili

Julia Sabo Bonfili, 86, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Mapleshire Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. Julia was born in Morgantown on November 14, 1929, the daughter of the late Alex Sabo and Priscilla (Molnar) Sabo. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William T. Bonfili, who passed away in 2005. She was a graduate of West Virginia University and taught for 30 years in the Monongalia County School system, primarily at North Elementary School. Julia is survived by her son, William A. Bonfili of Morgantown and her daughter, Dr. Susan Fleet (William Shepherd) of Mobile, AL. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Dr. Alexander Sabo (Sandy) and her sister in law, Dora Merritt Sabo. She is also survived by a grandson, Alexander Fleet of Mobile, AL as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her brother, John Sabo and sister, Elizabeth Pusztai. The family wishes to thank the staff of WVU Hospital outpatient dialysis unit located in Westover as well as the staff of Mapleshire in Morgantown for the compassion and care that were given to Julia during her illness. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Wednesday, February 3rd from 5-7 PM and again on Thursday, February 4th from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Randall Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
