Karen Sue Gillum

Karen Sue Murphy Gillum, 66, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015, at UPMC Hospital. Karen was born in Morgantown on April 30, 1948, the daughter of the late Delbert Raymond Murphy and Edith Rose (Lambert) Murphy. She was a former employee at Krogers in Sabraton. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She also enjoyed playing Bingo. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Samuel W. Gillum; sons, Greg Gillum of Morgantown and Sam Gillum also of Morgantown; sisters, Wanda Hawk of Greensboro, Pa and Vicki Howdershelt of Morgantown; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Lynn Gillum Cassino; two brothers, Donald and Gary; and two sisters, Marlene and Doris. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown Friday, Jan. 9th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. After the visitation, in keeping with Karen’s wishes cremation services will be provided.
