Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Smith, 88, lifelong resident of Morgantown passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010, at United Hospital Center of Clarksburg, WV.Kathleen was born in Terra Alta on April 18, 1922, the son of the late Daniel and Annie Shaffer Smith.Kathleen was a member of St. John University Parrish.She retired from Sterling Faucet. She loved her family and friends, was a devout catholic, enjoyed pending time pursuing her passion for collecting clocks and figurines and recounting to family members the many interesting stories of days gone by. Kathleen to the world, but Aunt Katie to those of us who loved and knew her best. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Cliff and Tina Grogg with whom she resided, and two very special nieces Jackie Berthiaume of Carmel Indiana and Rhonda Carter of Cocolla, Idaho. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer âTimâ Smith, Foster Smith and Richard Smith two sisters Glendean Smith Banning and Annie âPatâ Smith Cody and her life partner William Klingensmith.Family and friends will be received at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, Wednesday, Dec. 29. from 9:00am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am with V. Rev. Fr. Mark G. Ward, CP, VF officiating. Burial will follow at Burnt Meeting House Cemetery, River Road, Morgantown.
