Kramer Lee Turner, 63, of Glade Hill, VA, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born July 12, 1960, the son of the late Roy Turner and Clara (Stafford) Turner.
After high school, Kramer attended Edinboro University in Edinboro, PA where he received his bachelor's degree in social work. He went on to attend West Virginia University, receiving a master's degree in both public administration and social work. An automobile accident 40 years ago left Kramer disabled, leading him to become a life-long advocate for people with disabilities. He was an influential member on many boards and committees around town, including Main Street Morgantown, the National Wildlife Turkey Federation (Franklin County Longbeards Chapter), and the Disability Rights and Resource Center (DRRC). His involvement on these committees helped to make Morgantown, and areas in Virginia more handicapped accessible.
Kramer was an avid hunter after becoming involved with the Virginia Wheelin' Sportsman in 2008, showing him specialized hunting equipment so that he could get back into hunting again as he hunted as a child before becoming disabled. He was a lifelong WVU fan, and enjoyed spending time on his farm with his rescue animals. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed attending many races with family and friends
