LaVonne Marie Beeson, 78, of Morgantown passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.LaVonne was born in Waterloo, Iowa on September 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Ray Kenneth and Olive Marie Maust. LaVonne was a graduate of West Waterloo High School in Waterloo, IA and attended Ashland College in Ashland, OH. She was Director of Hilltop Nursery School and Day Care Center Boulder Hill, Montgomery, IL. She enjoyed music and served as church organist at Boulder Hill Church of the Brethren for several years. She was a former secretary and editorial assistant at Church of the Brethren General Headquarters, Elgin, IL a former secretary at Pembroke Country Day School in Kansas City, MO. After moving to Morgantown, she was an editorial office manager at The Dominion Post until her retirement in 1996. After retirement she was an active member of Suncrest United Methodist Church and served as a part time secretary. She was a member of Hattie Koontz Circle and the Prayer Quilt Ministry. She is survived by her husband, Justin Leo Beeson of Morgantown, her children, Rosanna Lee Harpest of Aurora, IL, Mark Irven Lichtenberger and wife, Raziya of Colfax, NC Philip Lynn Lichtenberger and wife, Cathy of Thousand Oaks, CA and Cheryle Marie Lichtenberger of Naperville, IL her grandchildren, David Harpest of New York City, Julie Harpest of Kettering, OH, Sarah and Emily Lichtenberger of Colfax, NC, Ben Lichtenberger of New York, Laura Lichtenberger of San Francisco, and Mallory Lichtenberger of New Jersey her sisters, Shirley Kahler of Traer, IA., and Sandra McLean of Waterloo, IA her brother, Raymond D. Maust of Colbert, WA.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Lyle Irven Lichtenberger and her brother, R. Keith Maust. Family and friends will be received at the Suncrest United Methodist Church, Monday, May 3, from 10-11a.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the church at 11:00a.m.with Rev. Tim W. Halloran and Rev. William R. Kinsey officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in LaVonneâs memory to a charity of your choice.Cremation services provided by Hastings Funeral Home.
