Linda Kay Hargis

Linda Kay Hargis, 75, of Morgantown, WV passed away at her home on Sunday, April 30, 2023. She was born in Morgantown on August 31, 1947, daughter of the late Ernest and Nadine (Kidder) Sanders.

Linda enjoyed gathering on her porch listening to music and sharing many laughs with family and friends. She enjoyed shopping trips with family, lunch dates, and playing Rummy with her grandkids, as well as connecting with people on Facebook. Many of her Facebook friends will miss her daily good morning posts.

She moved to California in her early years where she met and married the love of her life, John Thomas Hargis. They began their life together and had two sons before returning to Morgantown. They spent 53 years together until John's passing in March 2022.

Left to cherish her memories are sons John Dale Hargis and wife Amy, Steven "Boomer" Hargis and girlfriend Mary Rogers; grandchildren Morgan Stone (Tyler), Adam Hargis and girlfriend Natalie Dixon, and Emily Hargis; siblings Trudy Sylvester (Tim) and Lorna Odekirk (Tom); special cousin, Debbie Smyth along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Linda is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Kidder.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Thursday May 4th from 5-7 pm and again on Friday May 5th from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am with Pastor Daniel Strosnider officiating. Interment will take place beside her loving husband at WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
