Lois Wiles

Lois Irene Mowery Wiles, 87, of, Morgantown, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Antes Fort, PA on November 8, 1926; the daughter of the late Carl Stover Mowery and Lila Taylor Mowery Layfield. She was a longtime employee for the WV Bureau of Employment Security Office in the Unemployment Department. She was a member of the Spruce Street United Methodist Church and a member of the Ruth Circle. She was an amazing seamstress and enjoyed quilting and baking. She loved traveling with her husband, having made a trip to Europe, and driving with her husband to Maine and California to spend time with her children, as well as taking Alaskan Cruises. Lois is survived by her daughter, Leslie Jean Hubbard and husband Mike of Birmingham, AL; two sons, William Forrest Wiles of San Jose, CA and Robert Thomas Wiles of Morgantown; granddaughter Sheila Sue Hubbard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd L. Wiles. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue at Spruce Street United Methodist Church, 386 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Thursday, December 12th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Timothy J. Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown, OH at 3:30 PM Thursday, December 12th.
