Mabel Marie Savasta

Mabel Marie Savasta, 83, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Monongalia General Hospital of Morgantown, WV. Mrs. Savasta was born in Bretz, WV on April 21, 1932, the daughter of the late Emery and Olga Shaffer Reed. She was a longtime member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church and worked at the WVU Bookstore for over 20 years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors and in her free time she liked to crossstitch and work jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her son, Michael J. Savasta of Morgantown; daughter, Sandra K. Kirby and husband, Frank of Daniels, WV; grandchildren, Michael P. Savasta and wife Traci of Morgantown, Christopher R. Kirby of San Diego, CA, Allyson F. Kirby of Hurricane, WV; great-grandchildren, Branden H. and Michael T. Savasta of Morgantown. In keeping with Mrs. Savasta’s wishes cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home. A private family inurnment will be held at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date.
