Mabel Rosann Smith

On Thursday, September 22, 2022, Mabel Rosann Smith,77 years old, born to the late Ellis James and Eva Ellen (Varner) Tennant, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family.

In addition to her parents, Mabel is preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters, and infant grandsons, Stephen & Andrew.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James “Willie” Smith; son James “Jim” Smith and children James & Mark, Son Sammy Smith (Cindy) and children Sammy (Janie), Lance & Drew (Emily); daughter Tammy Galloway (David) and children Adam, Hannah (Tyler) & Eric; great grandchildren, Emma, Jackson, Layla, Iva, Ella, Cora, Elijah, Charlotte, Wade, Quinn and one due February 2023, as well as sisters Faye Stimmell & Norma “Jean” Demastes and many nieces & nephews.

Mabel worked as a glass decorator at Davis & Lynch Glass Factory for 30 years. She mastered painting lines on glassware with a steady hand. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her kind and giving personality as she loved wholeheartedly and gave selflessly.

Hastings Funeral Home Omega Crematory is entrusted with arrangements and a graveside service at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mabel’s name to Amedisys Hospice Care, 5006 Mid Atlantic Drive, Morgantown, WV 26508.
