Margie Marie Darnell

Marie Gatian Darnell, 92, of Morgantown, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Mon General Hospital. She was born November 29, 1922 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late James Francis and Ropha Love Gatian. She was a devoted wife of 53 years to her husband, George Darnell, who passed away in 1998. Mrs. Darnell was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Morgantown and was a longtime floral designer at Coombs Flowers. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and church family and enjoyed raising birds. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Darnell, Sherri Dulin and her husband Bill, and Laura Westerman and her husband Joe, all of Morgantown; grandchildren, Michelle Oldaker and her husband Donnie, Christopher Dulin and his wife Traci, Jeremy Westerman, and Tamara Newsome and her husband Gerald; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harry, James, Charles, Wayne, Roy, and Arthur Gatian and sister, Lenora Molisee. Friends and family will be received at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Tuesday, March 10th from 4-8 PM. Visitation will continue at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 317 Elmhurst Street, Morgantown, on Wednesday, March 11th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastors Douglas Miller and David Goodin officiating.
