Marguerite Kennedy

Marguerite Kennedy, 90, of Point Marion passed away peacefully with her children at her bedside, at Mon Health Medical Center in the early morning of Friday, April 23, 2021. Marguerite was born to the late James C. and Augusta Garletts in Morgantown. She was preceded in death by her siblings Donald, Vivian, Lois, James, and Roy. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, O. Roger Kennedy. Marguerite was a graduate of Morgantown High School, Class of 1949. Marguerite loved to garden and tend to her lilacs and arranging her annuals in the springtime. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them grow up. She was an avid cook and cherished her moments with her family in preparing meals. Her selfless caring of her family and putting their needs above hers was the way she lived her life. She is survived by her son, Roger and his wife Ada, her daughter, Susan and her husband Jon, grandchildren Kirsten, Evan, Katie, and Jack, and great grandchildren Harmony and Melody. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 Noon with The Rt. Rev. Matthew Riegel officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Pt. Marion. Due to COVID-19, all guests are asked to maintain social distancing and wear a mask.
