Mark Allen

Mark Wayne Allen, 51, of Morgantown, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Carlsbad, NM on May 21, 1962, a son of the late Ray and Evrel Lou Price Allen. Mark attended Morgantown High School and West Virginia University. He was employed by SDI, North American Drilling Corporation. He was accomplished in Aikido Martial Arts and enjoyed being a Sensei / Instructor. Mark was a loving father, husband, and brother, and cared deeply about his friends and co-workers. Mark is survived by his wife, Misty Lowe Allen; his daughter at home, Preslee Brooke Allen, and his daughters, Alexandria Grace Allen of Morgantown, Heidi Christine Allen currently in Germany, and Stefanie Paige Allen of Texas; his brothers, Matthew Allen and fiancé Vanessa Lawson of Morgantown and Greg Allen of California; sisters, Kathy Allen Watts and husband Steve Watts of Mannington, Janet Allen of California and Beverly Allen of California; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Karen and Doug Stewart of Morgantown; brothers-in-law Johnathan Brent Lowe of Morgantown and Robert Ray Lowe Jr. and his wife Luciana Lowe of Bruceton Mills; a special friend, Brian Robbins and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Von Allen, and a sister, Connie Allen. Family and friends may call at the Avery United Methodist Church, 1152 Cheat Rd., Morgantown on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 4-9 PM and Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 9 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Reverend Richard Work and Pastor Gina Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Pisgah, WV. Hastings Funeral Home is assisting the Allen family with the arrangements.
