Martha Jane Mccarty

Martha Jane Smith, McCauley, McCarty born August 21, 1933 at Halleck, Monongalia County, WV. After 81 years I’m taking my flight into eternity to meet my Lord, other family members, friends and all my pets that will be there to greet me. Life has been a stopping place, a pause in what’s to be a resting place along the road to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys; different paths along the way we all were meant to learn some things but never meant to stay. The following wonderful family is my contribution for this earth and will make their journey as their plan has been set forth. I am survived by my children and spouses, Harold Andrew McCauley (Darla), Leslie Florence Downey (Guy Raines), Robert Eugene McCauley (Kandy), Carol Lynn Thorn (Daniel) Julie Ann Cup (Ralph II), Martha Lee May (David), and Lewis Franklin McCauley (Patti); 26 grandchildren and spouses, 38 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; sisters and spouses; Doris Given (James), Norma May (Dayton), Kathy Clark (Fred); brother, Harold Smith (Shirley). In addition to my parents, I was preceded in death by, husbands, three children and son-in-law, Charles G. Downey. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Monday, June 15th from 1-3p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Summers Cemetery, Halleck Road, Morgantown with Pastor.
