Marvin E. Teets

Marvin E. Teets, 72, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Mapleshire Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. Marvin was born in Baltimore, MD on December 1, 1942, the son of the late Junior Reed Teets and Marie (Feather) Teets. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and a graduate of Morgantown High School. He served his country in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserves and retired from Dominion Hope Gas as assistant superintendent. He then served as a Bailiff for the Monongalia County Sheriff's office and was a member of the Deputy Sheriff's Civil Service Commission. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, classic cars, and horseshoes. He was a member of both the Big Survey Hunting Club and the Good Ol' Boys Hunting Club and was a founding member of the Dream Machines Car Club. Marvin is survived by his wife of 46 years, Charlotte Gasper Teets; aunt Freda Teets; cousins, Christel and Larry, Mark and Barbara Hobday, mother-in-law, Hazel Gasper, brother-in-law, Rick Gasper and wife Bonnie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his uncle Elwood Teets. Family and friends will be received at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV on Friday, October 9th from 4-8pm. A Scriptural Wake service will be held at 7:30pm to conclude the evening service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th at 10:00 AM with Father Carlos Melocoton, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery.
