Mary Ann Nimcheck Guariglia

Mary Ann Nimcheck Guariglia, 92, of Sycamore St., Westover, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at her daughter's residence in Hollywood, FL. She was born in Benbush, WV on March 10, 1922, a daughter of the late Frank Nimcheck and the late Anna (Marczuk) Nimcheck. Survivors include her three children, Peter Francis Guariglia and Linda of Morgantown, Cynthia Guariglia Perodeau and husband Mark of Hollywood, FL and Jane A. Freid and husband Steve of Hallandale, FL; four grandchildren, Abigail Somerstein and husband Alan, Alexander Freid, Ariel Freid Yashin and husband Alex and Kenny Haines and wife Bonnie; six great-grandchildren, Chelsa and Austin Flint, and Coty, Alisha, Marcus and Averie Haines; and one great-great-grandchild, Reese Flint. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Peter Joseph Guariglia on August 21, 1985. The couple was married on June 28, 1947. Additionally, five siblings, John, Frank, Alice, Mike and Nick preceded her in death. Mary was an active member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She retired as an Executive Secretary from West Virginia University after 22 years of service. Mrs. Guariglia will lay in repose at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, on Sunday, July 6th from 3-6 PM, and on Monday, July 7th from 9 AM until the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM with Father Jeremiah Lange, OSB, as celebrant. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in East Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 5:30 PM Sunday afternoon in the church to conclude the visitation.
