Mary Luella Eddy

Mary Luella Eddy, 85, of Fairlawn Drive, Buckhannon, formerly of Morgantown, departed this life Wednesday, September 17, 2014. She will forever be remembered for her sweet and gentle spirit and kind and giving heart. She was born September 24, 1928, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Rex and Idell Stansbury Coombs. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Norval Lee Eddy, in 1999 and a son, Daniel Lee Eddy, in 1973, two brothers, William and Phillip Coombs, two sisters, Louise Dugan and Lucille Dick. She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Sue Phillips and husband Gregory, of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Holly Green and husband Jon, of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Gregory Phillips, Jr. and C. B. Phillips and wife Tina, both of Buckhannon; four great grandsons, Anthony Duke and Henry Oscar Phillips, of Buckhannon and Jimmie Donald and Julian Elliot Green, of Buckhannon. She managed The House of Cards in Morgantown for 28 years before moving to Buckhannon to be closer to her only daughter. She was a Methodist by faith and a member of Mount Herman United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. The family will receive visitors at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. The visitation will continue on Saturday, September 20, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30p.m. with Rev.
