Melissa Jo Hertzog, age 62, of Morgantown died Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown, WV.

Melissa was born July 30, 1960 in Morgantown, WV, the daughter of the late Patsy (Hall) and Fredrick Hertzog.

Melissa enjoyed poetry.

She is survived by sister, Tina Hertzog and her partner Jeffrey Sjolander of Morgantown, brothers Richard, John and Dan of Morgantown.

DEATH IS A DOOR

Death is only an old door

Set in a garden wall;

On gentle hinges it gives, at dusk

When the thrushes call.

Along the lintel are green leaves,
