Michael Ray King

Michael "Mike" Ray King, 64, of Morgantown, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021, at J W Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 31, 1956, in Morgantown, a son of the late Bernard Russel King and Betty G. (Nestor) King. Mike grew up in Morgantown and worked in Environmental Service with West Virginia University. He was known by all as an outspoken fellow and jokester. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Merlene (Anderson) King; one daughter, Jamie Herron and husband, Joshua; siblings, Gale Wilson, Bernard King, Jr., and wife, Linda; nieces, Misty and Lora; and nephew, John. In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by a sister, Diane McVicker; niece, Carrie McVicker and special friend, Terry Watson. Friends and family will be received at Nicholson Chapel, Summer School Road, Morgantown, on Thursday, April 22, 2021, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery. Due to COVID-19, all guests are asked to maintain social distancing and wear a mask.
