Mickey James Finn,72, formerly of Morgantown and currently of Montrose, WV, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.. Mickey was born in Michigan on September 23, 1942, a son of the late Russell Neil and Opal Virginia Harris Finn. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Rhonda Goodwin Finn; his nieces and nephew, Stephen Finn and his wife Dawn of Morgantown, Jan Finn Duffy and her husband Bob of Fredericksburg, VA and Cathy Plyler and her husband David of Floyd, VA; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Stephanie; and a brother, Russell R. “Reggie” Finn. Mickey was a very well known musician for many years. In his teens, he was a member of the Teen Kings. He was one of the founding members of the Bonnevilles and also played with the Avalons. He enjoyed being in the outdoors – camping, fishing, riding ATV’s, and target shooting. He enjoyed and owned several antique cars throughout the years, and loved his animals. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Monday, March 30th from 4-8 PM and again on Tuesday, March 31st from 10 AM until 11:30 AM. All in attendance will then process to East Oak Grove Cemetery where at 12 Noon Tuesday, a graveside committal service of remembrance will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Mickey’s memory be made to the Chestnut Mountain Ranch, 244 Ponderosa Ponds Rd., Morgantown, WV 26508.
