Nancy Landahl Atwell

Nancy L. Atwell, 76, of Morgantown passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at her residence.

She was born July 16, 1947 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Adolph and Ruth (Riddle) Landahl.

Nancy was a 1965 graduate of Wheeling High School, and went on to earn her nursing degree at Ohio Valley Regional Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed at Ruby Memorial Hospital as a nurse for 40 years.

Nancy is survived by her step-children William Albert Atwell, III and wife Dr. Farnaz Safi; Amy Atwell Woods and husband Kevin; grandchildren Chloe Atwell, Ross Woods, and Nathan Woods; and extended family member William A. Custer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Albert Atwell, Jr.

Nancy was a humble and caring soul. Her passing came too quickly. For those who knew and loved her, she will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 3PM until 6PM, and again at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown on Monday October 9, 2023 from 9:30AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, STD as celebrant. Interment will take place at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
