Nancy Ellen Mcdonald

Nancy McDonald, 78, of Morgantown, formerly of Canyon, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Sundale Nursing Home. Nancy was born on April 16th 1937, daughter of the late Russell and Gladys (Bowers) Shaffer of Morgantown. Nancy really enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing. Nancy is survived by her children: Duncan Eric (Monica) McDonald of Bretz, Cathy Jean (Chuck), Jacqueline Renee, Tammy Sue (Linda), and Timothy Lee (Virginia) all of Morgantown. She is also survived by a sister: Helen Marie (Poke) of Preston County. Nancy has eight grandchildren: Andy, Kristie, Zachary, Mathew, Amber, Heather, Ashley, and Jared; and seven great-grandchildren: Spencer Joey, Braxton Rex, Ashley, Amber, Seirra, Jensen, and Kennedy. She is also survived by her special niece Toni (Shaffer) Amstadt. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert (Web) McDonald; her son, Kevin Dean McDonald; three brothers and two sisters. The family would like to thank all the staff at Sundale Nursing Home for taking great care of their Mother, as well as Morgantown Hospice. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Monday, January 11, from 3-7 p.m. and again on Tuesday, January 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Frank Spina officiating.
