Nancy Elaine Matthews

Nancy Elaine (Stump) Matthews, 67, of Taylor County, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born February 22, 1956 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Tracy and Virginia (Flowers) Stump.

She was a Methodist by faith and worked as a Pharmacy Tech. She enjoyed camping with Bob and Judy James, going to the beach, crafts, and spending time with her family- especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, Lyle Douglas Matthews; children, Ronald Phillippi (Julie) of Lexington, KY, Michael Phillippi (Tiffany) of Morgantown, and Lisa Simpson (Brett) of Morgantown, Courtney Nacarate (Matt) of Bruceton Mills, Lyle Matthews, Jr. of Morgantown, and Jeremy Matthews of Morgantown; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Tracy Stump, Jr. and Patty Carder; and grandchild, Zack Jemley.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Thursday, June 1st from 5-8 PM and again on Friday, June 2nd from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Lawrence Rebelo officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
