Patricia Ann Benson, 97, of Morgantown, passed away at The Village at Heritage Point on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Pat was born in Fairmont, WV on June 10, 1927, the daughter of the late Frank Farson and the late Rella (Gilmore) Farson.
Pat was a graduate of Fairmont High School and attended Potomac State College before marrying her childhood sweetheart, the late Don Dayton Benson. They had been married for 70 years. She was a long-standing member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morgantown and a member of the Morgantown Service League. She taught Sunday School at First Presbyterian Church, Preschool at Charlotte's Dance Studio and worked at Farmers and Merchants Bank. Pat was an avid card player, belonging to two bridge clubs, and enjoyed bowling. She loved to read and was a member of the Ingleside Book Club.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Donna) Benson of Cleveland, OH, daughters Sharon (Michael) Broun of Athens, GA and Amy (Riley) Barb of Canaan Valley, WV; 4 grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Broun of Athens, GA, Matthew (Emily) Broun of Atlanta, GA, Nick (Taylor) Fiorini of Victor, ID and Catherine (Zach) von Gersdorff of Canaan Valley, WV; 5 great-grandchildren, Michael Broun III, Charlotte Broun, Emerson Broun, Collins Broun, Annie Quinn Broun, and one on the way; 4 Nieces and 7 Nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Bill Farson.
Friends and Family will be received at the First Presbyterian Church, 456 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, July 13 from 12PM until the Celebration of Life Service at 1PM, with Rev. Zac Morton officiating.
