Patricia Ann Stewart

Patricia Ann Stewart, 95, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 17, 1927 in Gassaway, WV, a daughter of the late Albert and Della Fay (Workman) Groves.

Pat was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was the owner and operator of Pat Stewart Realtors and was president of the WV Association of Realtors in 1989 and local board of realtors. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority, 4-H All Stars, and president of the Monongalia County Chamber of Commerce in 1983. She started the Newcomers Club in 1976. Pat and her husband were principal owners of WJCF-FM, Westover from 1981-88.

She is survived by her children, Diane Stewart Lepley, Jeffrey Groves Stewart and his wife, Sandra; grandchildren, Troy Peter Stewart, Guy Samuel Stewart and his wife, Jaya, William Lee Stewart and his wife, Hayley; and daughter in law, Heidi Stewart and her husband, Tom Gallegly; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Guy Harry Stewart; son, Thomas C. Stewart; grandson, Brandon Stewart; and siblings, Albert Groves, Jr., Blaine Groves, Eleanor Stedman, and Mary Lou McCune.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pat’s memory to the Thomas C. Stewart Scholarship Fund at Wesley United Methodist Church, 503 North High Street, Morgantown, WV 26505; to Brandon’s Helping Hands, c/o PACE Enterprises, 889 Mylan Park Lane, Morgantown, WV 26501; to WV Jackson's Mill Endowment Fund #34064 or to the Guy H. Stewart Scholarship Fund #3S486, both addressed to the WVU Foundation, 1 Waterfront Place, 7th Floor, Morgantown, WV 26501-5952 or to your local 4-H Chapter.

Friends and family will be received at Wesley United Methodist Church, 503 N. High Street, Morgantown, on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 1 PM until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 PM with Rev. Martha Ognibene officiating. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
