Paul Piggott

Paul Eugene Piggott, 83, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Monongalia General Hospital.He was born in Parkersburg, WV on June 18, 1929, the son of the late Fred Piggott and Ocie Belle (Knoop) Piggott.He was a former employee of the Seneca Glass Factory where he worked for eight years. For many years Paul was the gravedigger for Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Fletcher Cemetery and other cemeteries in the community. He was an all round handyman. Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing he had a great sense of humor and was always telling jokes. He loved Mountaineer football and the NFL.Paul is survived by his daughter, Freda McDaniel and her husband Eugene of Newburg sisters Norma Minor and husband, Jim of Belpre, OH Garnet McGrew of Parkersburg, WV and Doris Kennedy and husband Danny of Nashville, TN grandchildren, Sam, Robbie and Tracy great-grandchildren Tia McDaniel and Austin Dale Martin. Also he is survived by several nieces and nephews and by his long time friend, Andy Rowand. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Webber.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 from 12(Noon) until the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm with Pastor Jeff Huggins officiating. Cremation services will follow. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Mt. Union Cemetery.
