Paul Provencher

June 26, 1956 — December 23, 2013

Paul Mark Provencher, 57, surrounded by love and family, passed away peacefully in his home on December 23, 2013, after a two year battle with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Paul was born on June 26, 1956 and grew up in Templeton, Massachusetts and graduated from The Rhode Island School of Photography in 1975. Paul became a photojournalist, reveling in the outdoors and photographing nature, a passion that permeated his every spare moment. His gifts as a photographer shared the spotlight with a distinguished career in Information Technology of more than 30 years. Paul retired as Chief Technology Officer in the fall of 2012, following his diagnosis. He had a love for the outdoors, especially four-wheeling in his jeep, hiking, biking and geocaching. Paul was also very involved with the Boys Scouts of America as an Assistant Scoutmaster. Paul is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Maria and his sons Edward and Tomás, parents Leo and Joyce, sisters Beth and Sarah, brother Allan; and many extended family members whom he loved dearly. Paul will always be remembered as a committed and loving family man, with a zest for life fuelled by a myriad of interests and talents. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on January 4, 2014 at 10:30am at The Lake Manor Bed & Breakfast, 475 Fairchance Rd., in Morgantown, WV.
