Paulette Smith

Paulette Smith, 80, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was born April 27, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Bill and Sarah (Potts) Messinger.

Paulette will be remembered as the "neighborhood mom" and her house was always open to her childrens' friends. She was an avid Bridge player and a wonderful cook.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Roger Smith; children, Valerie Smith, Andrew and Mary Smith, Nathan and Michelle Smith, and Vivian Smith; grandchildren, Jessica Martinez, Matthew Martinez, Tristan Graves, Ryan Smith, Ashton Smith, Abby Smith, and Emma Smith; and siblings, David and Judy Messinger, Ronnie Messinger, and Marilyn and Jim Dunlap. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Howard Messinger.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Tuesday, December 19th from 5-7 PM and again on Wednesday, December 20th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Larry Buckland officiating.

Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
