Raymond Martin Witmer

Raymond Witmer Jr. went home to be with his Savior on February 22, 2022 under Hospice care at his home in Morgantown, WV.

Ray was born on April 13, 1938 in Greencastle PA. He was the son of Raymond and Mary (Diller) Witmer, dairy farmers. He was the youngest of eight children and is survived by brother Richard (Delores), devoted wife Esther (Keener) Witmer and four loving children: Trena (Terry) Dunson, Tonia (Philip) Owen, Ray III (Rhonda) Witmer, and Tobe (Amy) Witmer as well as 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren who affectionately called him "Pap".

Ray was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Morgantown for over 50 years. He taught his children to know and serve the Lord. He loved to read his Bible, the book of Psalms being one of his favorites. Being thankful for God's forgiveness and mercy in his own life, Ray had a great desire to see souls saved. He proclaimed the gospel in his sunset years through Countrywide Prison Ministry.

Ray was known for his good humor which served him well in various jobs in sales over the years and gave him a storehouse of friends. Singing gospel and sweet love songs with his wife was one of his favorite pastimes. He loved playing games with family and friends. His absence will leave a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints - Ps. 116:15

Friends and family will be received at Faith Baptist Church, 809 Green Bag Rd., Morgantown on Friday, February 25th from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM. A graveside committal service will be held at the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery in Greencastle, PA on Saturday, February 26th at 12:00 Noon for all who would like to attend.
