Richard Snider

Richard Dale Snider, 64, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a long illness with his family at his side. He was born March 29, 1945, in Morgantown a son of Maxine Snider and the late Raymond Snider. Mr. Snider was retired working most of his years at Southside Lumber and Lowes. He was an avid sports fan of the Mountaineers and the Steelers, never missing a game. He enjoyed the simple things in life and spending time with his great granddaughter Erica Nicholson. In addition to his mother Maxine, he is survived by his fiancée of several years, Gloria Hall where he made his home along with his mother. He is also survived by his sons, Mark Ray Snider of Morgantown, Richard (Rick) Allen Snider of Virginia, granddaughters, Hannah Rachelle Snider and Lindsey Renee Snider of Morgantown, grandsons, Branden Scott Snider and Jeremy John Snider all of Morgantown. He was very close to his family to be, Gary Hall, Ed Hall, Pamela McClain, Amy Dalton, Valarie Nicholson and their children. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Lee Snider. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., from 3-6pm on Friday, January 15, 2-4 & 6-8pm on Saturday, January 16, and from 1-2pm on Sunday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 2pm on Sunday, January 17, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will be held at Olive Cemetery, Pentress, WV.
