Rickey Van Hall Morgan, 58, of Scenic Woods Drive, Morgantown, passed away Friday, July 10, 2009 at Monongalia General Hospital.Rick was born in Clarksburg, on December 4, 1950, the son of the late James E. and Helen M. Hall Morgan. He was a graduate of Charleston High School where he was an All-State Wrestler. Rick served in the U.S. Army as a MP from 1969-71. He graduated from the WV State Police Academy in 1973. Rick retired from the WV State Police on June 20, 1994. He was currently employed at Busters Auto. He was a member of the Community United Methodist Church where he was also the Chair of the Administrative Council. Rick was a Master BBQ chef and loved being outdoors and boating at Tygart Lake. He is survived by his wife Deborah Lewis Morgan, daughters, Michelle Morgan Fraser and spouse Lane of Buford, SC, Amber Morgan and companion Eric Gibson of Martinsburg and a son, Joshua Morgan and fiancé Janelle Sheets of Morgantown, five grandchildren that he loved dearly, Zakary Morgan, Connor Fraser, Emma Fraser, Bailey Wilkins, and Ashlyn Gibson, a brother, Jim Morgan of Charleston, his sisters, Valerie McNiel of Cross Lanes, Vickie Caruthers of Charleston and Candy Morgan of Charleston, and many nieces and nephews. Cremation services provided by Hastings Funeral Home. Friends will be received at Community United Methodist Church from 4-7pm on Sunday, July 12, 2009. A celebration of his life will be held at 1pm Monday, July 13, at the church with Rev. Meredith Gudger-Raines and Rev. Richie McNiel officiating.
