Robert C. "Bob" Anderson, Jr., 64, of Morgantown, a proud veteran of the US Army who served during the Vietnam conflict, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013. He was born in Morgantown on July 2, 1949, a son of Vesta (Jennings) Anderson of Morgantown, and the late Robert Carl Anderson, Sr. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Kathy Sollars Anderson; three children, Christine Carol Burke and her husband Dustin, Robert Carl Anderson, III and his fiancée Sarah Lewis, and Keith Dean Anderson all of Morgantown; his grandson, Colton James Anderson Burke - whom he affectionately referred to as "Skippy", and his adopted grandson, Nathan Lee Christopher Lewis. Bob was formerly a drummer with the band "Subway", and was previously employed as a contractor with the US Department of Defense for Nations / Eagle Systems. Bob loved spending time with his friends at Buck's Lounge in Morgantown (and loved their chili dogs). He enjoyed fishing, was a fan of NASCAR, and loved telling his long stories. He will be missed and always loved by his family and friends. Bob's wishes for cremation have been honored by his family. A graveside committal service with the rendering of Full Military Honors will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 28th at the Eden Cemetery with Pastor Terry Hagedorn officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to gather at the cemetery by 10:45AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests for contributions in Bob's name to be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 785717, Topeka, Kansas 66675. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and aides, especially Sherri, who assisted in his care.
