Robert Ford

May 12, 1964 — February 21, 2014

Robert Lee "Chicken George" Ford, 49, of Leckrone, PA, passed away February 21, 2014 at Uniontown Hospital in Uniontown, PA. He was born in Uniontown on May 12, 1964, the son of the late Robert Henry Ford and Orie Ruth (Smith) Ford. George was an avid outdoorsman who thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and time around the bonfire. He was a master gardener that enjoyed canning his crops, cooking, and baking amazing bread, much of which was instilled in him from his Grandmother and Mother. He loved animals of all types. He was a "Residential Farmer," raising all kinds of animals including cows, horses, and dogs amongst many others, but his prized animals were his "pit bull" chickens and roosters that roamed freely across his land. George was a very loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend and will deeply be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife and best friend Michelle Mason-Ford; his two children: Miranda Ford (Roger) and Robert James Ford; grandchildren: Isabelle, Richard, and Scott Skelton; sisters: Julie Maust (Fran), Macel Cramer, Brenda Gibbs (Randy), Diane Leitter (Kevin), Audrey Ford, Connie Zunker (Tony), Sarah Duke (Nate) and Betsy Conner; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Raymond Henry Ford, two nephews and several cousins. Friends and family will be received Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM with Bishop Wheeler A. Estepp officiating. Interment will follow at Ford Family Cemetery.
