Robert James âBearâ Williams, Jr., 61, of Fairmont, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.Bear was born in Monongalia County on March 25, 1950, a son of the late Robert J. Williams, Sr. and Velma Gibson McGee. He was also a step-son to the late Dora Williams.Survivors include his son, Robert James âRJâ Williams, III of Fairmont one brother, (Leonard) Johnnie McGee Williams of Morgantown one sister, Julia McGee Petteway of Fairmont and his ex-wife friend, Vickie L. Williams.Bear was Baptist by faith and a graduate of University High School, where he wrestled and played football. He attended Fairmont State University and retired from Martinka Mines (A.E.P.). He enjoyed playing softball, playing his harmonica and shooting pool in leagues. He also enjoyed motorcycles, being out and about with his friends and spending time with his different animal companions.He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret McGee.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Tuesday, May 24th from 6-8 PM and again on Wednesday, May 25th from 9 AM until the time of the funeral service at 10 AM with Minister Patricia Ann Thomas and Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
