Robert C. âBobâ Lewis, 56, of Dorsey lane Morgantown, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Ruby Memorial Hospital with his loving family at his side.He was born July 18, 1955 in Morgantown the eldest of two sons of the late Clovis C. and Evelyn B Uphold Lewis.Bob was a beloved brother, father and grandfather. He was a Spec 5, Rifle Specialist in the 201st Field Artillery in the Army National Guard. He was a carpenter by trade but worked in other areas in his younger years. He was employed with several glass factories in Morgantown and worked for Mt. State Bit and Paul Danko Cabinets. In his later years he was a self-employed carpenter. He was blessed with a wonderful voice and loved to sing and dance. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his family. He is survived by a son, Robert L. Lewis and spouse Deni Lynn of Morgantown a daughter Renee McGilton Hawkins and spouse, Roger âBuddyâ of Independence sister, Diana âDeeâ McGilton and spouse, Ronnie also of Independence a brother Roger L. Lewis who along with his sister and brother-in-law were care-givers the last 4 years. Bob is survived also by 4 grandsons Trenton and Landon Lewis, Garrett and Dillan Hawkins 4 nieces, Debra Miller, Sue Blosser, Kristy Taylor all of Morgantown and Alexandra Doucet of Michigan several great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one aunt, Pauline Lewis (his motherâs sister) of Morgantown his uncle, Willis Lewis (his fatherâs brother) of Baltimore, MD. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Catherine and an infant niece, Rebecca Lynn.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Sunday, Feb. 26 from 2-6p.m. Visitation will continue at Nicholson Chapel Church on Monday, Feb. 27. from 10am to 11a.m. Funeral Service will be held in the church at 11:00a.m.with Pastor Lee Green officiating. Burial will follow at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bobâs memory to the Grafton Road Church of God, c/o Pastor Lee Green, 304 Webster Avenue, Morgantown, WV 26505.
