Robert (Ken) Swiger of Morgantown passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Before retirement he worked as a Field Superintendant with Zeni Drilling Company. During this time he worked on projects in various locations such as Australia, Papua New Guinea and Nova Scotia. He was a co-owner of Century 21 at Your Service with his wife Glenna. Ken enjoyed camping and boating on Tygart Lake. He also enjoyed traveling, country music and spending time with his family. Ken is survived by his wife of 45 years Glenna Swiger and one daughter and spouse Denise and Homer Morris of Norfolk, VA, one son and spouse Ken and Brenda Swiger of Morgantown. Six grandchildren Rachel and Randy Walsh of Mayport, FL, Jonathan Sanetrik, Valerie Sanetrik and Chase Smith of Norfolk, VA, Ryan Swiger and Megan Swiger of Morgantown, a great-granddaughter, Makenzie Lynn Walsh of Mayport, FL, 3 brothers, Roger and Charlotte Swiger of Tazewell, TN, Joe and Jacquie Swiger of Morgantown, Jeffrey and Gerri Lynn Swiger of Frametown, a sister, Jeannine and Randy Amos of Clarksburg, Additional family members are Shelia Swiger of Morgantown, Penny Swiger of Lumberport and Donna Jean Farron of Lumberport and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Randy Swiger, Anthony Swiger and Ray Laughery and a sister Ann Clutter. Cremation services were provided by Hastings Funeral Home.Friends will be received for a celebration of life at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 2-4pm on Saturday, December 18. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 4pm with Pastor James Cooley officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kens memory to Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, PO Box 8110 Morgantown, WV 26505 or Hospice Care 3363 University Ave., Morgantown, WV 26505.
