Ruby Roberta Kessler

Ruby Roberta Kessler, 100, of Morgantown, WV passed away Sept. 1, 2023 at Sundale Nursing Home.

Ruby was born in Morgantown, on December 23, 1922, the daughter of the late Sadie and Solomon Dalton.

Ruby was a lifelong member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she often chipped in cooking for different occasions. She was fondly known for her pumpkin pies, potato salad, and turkey dressing.

She is survived by her children: Hilda Lakatos and late husband Albert, Velma Howell and husband Ronald, and Randy Kessler and wife Brenda; siblings: Patty Hilling and Velma McDonald; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bert Kessler; daughters, Erma Mae and Wilma Fae Kessler; and siblings: Jacob, Eugene, Prentiss, Solomon Jr. Marcella, Wilma, Opal, Rachael, Ann, Melva, Okey, and Carl.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St. on Tuesday, September 5th from 5- 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday September 6th from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. A graveside service will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all the members of Sundale nursing home staff, a special niece, Debbie Ridgeway, Amedisys Hospice, and all family members that helped take care of her.
