Rudy Kerns

Rudy Lynn Kerns, 62, of Browns Chapel Road, Morgantown, passed away after a hard fought battle against cancer on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.Rudy was born in Grafton, on April 8, 1947, the son of Philip and Violet Brown Kerns. He was previously employed by Keeners Feed, Pineview Realty and Riverside Concrete. He enjoyed working around the family farm and his animals. He also, liked working jigsaw puzzles and being in the outdoors. He is survived by a sister, Alice Kerns and a brother, Alvin Kerns both of Morgantown, a brother â"in-law, Lee Ellis of Youngstown, OH, and a nephew, David Ellis of Youngstown, OH, In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Ellis and a niece, Susan Ellis. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., from 6-8pm on Saturday, October 24, 2-6pm on Sunday, October 25, and from 12:30-1:30pm on Monday, October 26. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1:30pm with Rev. Meredith Gudger-Raines officiating. Interment will follow at Halleck Cemetery.
