Ryan Mick

Ryan Lynn Mick, 37, of Preston County, WV, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013. He was born July 22, 1976 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of Michael Lynn Mick and his wife Lori and the late Donna McCauley Vancourt and her husband Bill. Ryan was a 1995 graduate of Liberty High School and was employed as a Glazer at Mountaineer Glass and Mirror. He worked as a volunteer at Caritas House and enjoyed making people laugh. In his free time, he enjoyed art, music, camping, fishing, hiking, and video games. Most especially, he was a loving and devoted father. In addition to his father, he is survived by his fiancé, Deborah Layman of Preston County and former wife and friend, Rachel Mick of Richmond, VA; four children, Rebecca Lynn Mick, Lindsey Ryan Mick, Schyler Layman, and Kaitlynn Layman; grandparents, Virginia McCauley, Josephine Winters, and Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Tennant; brothers, David Vancourt of Ashland, VA, Keith and Tracey Strother of Morgantown, Brandon Walker of Morgantown, Sean and Abbi Gale Mick of San Antonio, TX, Jesse and Jessica Tennant of Farmington, Daniel Tennant of Farmington; nieces, Delia Strother, Nataleigh and Hayleigh Tennant, Carly Morgan, Cassie Layman, Nicole Nuce; nephews, Hunter Tennant, Jacob Mick, and Dylan Morgan; aunts, Constance Strother, Robyn Viglianco, Peggy Courtney, Tammy Woodson, Crystal Jackson, Jennifer Winters, and Jodie Coolidge & uncles, Doug Winters and Carson Strother. He is also survived by several cousins including his special cousin, Autumn Grimes. He is preceded in death by grandfather, Lloyd McCauley; great grandmother, Ruth Miller; one sister, Tiesha Mick. In keeping with Ryan's wishes, cremation services will be performed by Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown. Family and friends will be received at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 6 pm until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 pm with Drew Reveal officiating.
