Sandra D. Hawkins

Sandra D. Hawkins, 68, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side, on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Kingwood Healthcare Center. She was born June 10, 1955 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Alan Dale and Marion Virginia (Stone) McDonald. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jesse Hawkins, whom she married on April 28, 1972.

She loved to travel with her husband and go to the beach.. She especially loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Dale Hawkins, Tyson Hawkins, Heather Johnson (Ryan Gamble), and Chad Hawkins (Jennifer Spring); grandchildren, Tyler Nicholson, Hunter Hawkins, Kayonia Johnson, Zoe Hawkins, Sadie Hawkins, L.J. Johnson, Brier Gamble, Tucker Gamble, Caitlin Spring, Remington Hawkins, and Jorja Hawkins; great granddaughters, Audrey, and Ensley; sister, Debra Shrout (David); and several brothers and sisters in law.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law Lewis and Wilma Hawkins, sister-in-law, Linda Hawkins.

The family would like to thank Stonerise Kingwood and WV Caring Hospice for their exceptional care.

Friends and family will be received at Burns Chapel UMC, Summer School Rd., Morgantown on Tuesday, August 15th from 3-9 PM and again on Wednesday, August 16th from 11 AM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. Interment will take place at Nicholson Cemetery. At the conclusion of the committal service, a luncheon will take place at Burns Chapel to continue to celebrate her life.
