Sandra Kay Poulson

Sandra Kay "Sandy" Poulson, 75, of Morgantown, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Sandy was born on December 12, 1947, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Walter and Ida "Jerry" (Tasker) Poulson.

Sandy graduated from Morgantown High School and spent several summers working in Ocean City, Maryland. She worked for 10 years at WVU before beginning a 26-year career at NIOSH, which allowed her to travel around the world. After retiring from NIOSH, she worked for another eight years in the WVU Department of Biochemistry before her official retirement.

Sandy was an avid gardener and took pride in maintaining her beautifully landscaped yard. She enjoyed reading and crafting, and one of her favorite activities was going to craft shows with her friends. She also loved her animals, including the wildlife in her yard and her beloved pets. She was known as a beach lover and would tell you that is where her heart and soul resided.

Sandy is survived by her sister, Karen Zervos and husband, Nick; niece and nephew, Erin Yu (Michael) and Pete Zervos (Melissa); great-nieces and nephew, Claire, Elaina, Sydney, Noah, and Madison; and many wonderful friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life at Erickson Alumni Center, 1 Alumni Drive, Morgantown, WV 26506 on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 2 pm.
