Sarah Mae Burgess

Sarah Mae Jackson Burgess, 79, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born in Bruceton Mills on November 29, 1935, a daughter of the late Robert Frye Jackson and the late Hannah Alice Jackson Burns. She married and moved to Morgantown to stay in 1955. She worked for many years at the WVU Medical Library and retired in 2000. She is survived by two sisters, Anna Hileman and Mary Pendley; five children, Mike Jackson, Paula Welling, Cathy O'Neal, Joe Burgess and Rose Burgess; seven grandchildren, Minerva Venuti, Louise Schnagl, Bryan O'Neal, Carly O'Neal, Beth Amandus, Holly Tennant and Stephanie Chaves; and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Jackson Burgess; a brother, Ray Jackson; a sister, Ruth Ritter; two nephews, Larry Jackson and Sherman Pendley; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends and family will be received at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, January 17th from 4 PM until the time of the service at 7 PM with Reverend Ray Frankhouser officiating.
